About Mainline Marine Service

A boat repair shop on the eastern side of Lake Winnipesaukee that spends most of its week somewhere other than the shop — at docks, at moorings, at marinas and in driveways, with the tools it takes to find out what is actually wrong.

Where it is and what it does

Mainline Marine Service LLC operates from 10 N Chase Point Rd, Mirror Lake, NH 03853 — Mirror Lake is a village inside the town of Tuftonboro, Carroll County, New Hampshire. Mirror Lake sits between its own small lake and the eastern shore of Lake Winnipesaukee, which puts the shop within reach of Wolfeboro, Moultonborough, Melvin Village and the whole eastern arm without anybody towing anything.

The work splits into two halves. There is shop work — the jobs that need a bench, a hoist or dry ground, like powerhead and lower unit rebuilds and structural fibreglass. And there is everything else, which is done at the boat: diagnostics, electrics, water pumps, fuel systems, batteries and charging, trim and tilt, winterization and spring commissioning.

The brands that come through most are the brands that live on this lake: Mercury, Yamaha, Volvo Penta, Suzuki and Sea-Doo. Outboards, sterndrives and personal watercraft.

How the work is priced and explained

Diagnosis comes before parts, and the price comes before the work. You are told what the fault is, what fixing it takes, and what the parts and labour come to, and nothing starts until you say so. If something else appears once a cover is off, that is a phone call — not a larger invoice at the end.

The other half of that is plain language. A boat owner does not need to be handed a part number and left to work out whether it mattered. Knowing what failed, why it failed and what stops it failing again is the difference between a repair and an annual repair.

What we will not put on this page

No stock photographs. Every image on this site is a photograph of Mainline Marine's own work, and every caption describes what is actually in the frame.

No credentials that have not been evidenced. This page does not claim a founding year, a certification, a licence number or a guarantee, because those are facts a business states about itself rather than things a website should decide. They will appear here when they are confirmed, worded exactly as Mike words them, and not before.
